Christmas paraphernalia in action: decoupage a bottle of champagne with your own hands (50 photos)

The thematic decoration of the bottle with the traditional New Year's drink can be different: someone sews covers in the form of the Snow Maiden and Santa Claus, other craftswomen tie bows and glue them with sparkles. Decoupage a bottle of champagne can be the most simple and, moreover, effective solution - you just need to stock up on the right tools and materials.

Next, we consider not only the list of components and key techniques, but also two decoration techniques - direct and inverse.

Overview of materials and tools

To independently make such a gift, you should stock up in advance the following materials for creativity:

  • base - a bottle of champagne completely cleared of labels;
  • wipes for decoupage, if they are not at hand, you can use drawings printed on office paper;
  • acrylic paints, colors;
  • synthetic brushes - they will not leave the villi in the paint, flat fan-shaped variations are especially convenient;
  • special sponges with handles, they can be replaced by ordinary ones (for washing dishes) with a clothespin for convenience;
  • acetone, alcohol or nail polish remover - they will help defat the bottle;
  • PVA or special glue for decoupage;
  • glossy or matte acrylic lacquer to secure the decor.

If instead of napkins will be used the usual printout, the image must be prepared (to make very thin): first, it is covered with two layers of acrylic lacquer. After the varnish has dried, the paper is placed in water for a couple of minutes in order to soften the bottom layer. Then gently blot the picture with a towel and, rolling up with your fingers, remove the bottom layer so that only the face layer remains. Care must be taken that the picture is not damaged. If there is no experience in such preparation, it is worth practicing on the draft.

The basic way to design a New Year's drink

To make a beautiful bottle of champagne using decoupage technique, you should purchase special napkins or cards - they will greatly facilitate the work. Also need:

  • gloves;
  • brush;
  • alcohol;
  • acrylic primer;
  • glue for decoupage;
  • matt acrylic lacquer;
  • scissors;
  • white paint (acrylic priority);
  • sponge.

Glass must be treated with alcohol to remove fat and labels, apply acrylic primer to the entire area. After it is completely dry, the bottle should be painted white. If the tone is not homogeneous, you will need a second (and possibly a third) layer.

While the container dries, it is necessary to carefully tear off the pattern with your hands (if there are small parts, you will still need to use scissors).

Now you can proceed directly to the decoration of champagne - attach the selected piece to the glass and begin to glue it. The napkin should be carefully smoothed in the direction from the center in order to systematically expel from it all the slightest air bubbles. The composition can occupy only the front section or cover the bottle around, in the second case, you need to choose an ornament in such a way that the junction zone is not conspicuous. It is better to “try on” the napkin in advance and adjust the image.

White paint is also used to mask the transitions: it is applied overlaid on all sides, including the bottom. Fix the decor a double layer of acrylic lacquer.

The neck and the cork can be left as is - in most cases, the factory foil fits perfectly into the composition. Otherwise, the position will be saved by trimming the decoupage napkins - they can be glued in a couple of layers on the neck and the cork, forming inconspicuous folds, and covered with paint. This area looks beautiful, decorated with satin ribbons, lace, bows and bells.

Another option - flowing down the neck bulk drops, sprinkled with artificial snow. This skillfully applied glue, dried and decorated in the form of imitation of frozen water. You can do it easier - to paint this area, strengthen with varnish and glue a miniature Christmas elf cap with a small soft pompon and a fluffy rim along the bottom edge.

The technology described above is the most primitive, it is suitable for those who do not know how to make decoupage on a bottle of champagne. Dozens of techniques for additional surface decoration can be found in master classes from people with a large baggage.

Let's take as an example a picture with Christmas attributes - sweets, fir branches, gingerbread house, red berries, snowflakes. Branches and snowflakes can be covered with a shiny gel (it is sold in a convenient package with a narrow spout), when dry, it will acquire the effect of bulk snow. On the berries should be applied to a drop of transparent glue or a special gel - so they will literally become semicircular, come to life.

The roof of a gingerbread house should be covered with a primer or a decorative white mass similar in consistency. If you use a small spatula (it can be found in stores for decoupage), a tangible layer of snow will be created, convex, realistic. The top of the bottle and the area closer to the bottom should be trimmed with gold or silver glitter / paint to emphasize the elegance of the product.

Thus, it is possible to beat any festive drawing in a profitable way, the main thing is not to forget to fix everything in the end with varnish in 1-3 layers depending on the thickness of the decor.

Features of reverse decoupage technique

Reverse decoupage of a bottle of champagne for the New Year looks very impressive: a window is formed in it, that is, through the thickness of the drink laps the pattern. A simple instruction given below, will allow you to perform such a decoration with your own hands literally in the evening. As materials and tools will be useful:

  • a bottle of drink;
  • priming;
  • napkin with a picture (you can take more than one);
  • acrylic lacquer;
  • decoupage glue;
  • self-adhesive film, for example, construction adhesive tape;
  • white and blue acrylic paint;
  • snow imitation;
  • sparkles;
  • fan-shaped brush;
  • sponge with handle;
  • degreaser;
  • fine paint brush;
  • Toothbrush.

After cleansing the bottle from the remnants of the label, glue and grease, you need to outline the inner pattern: separate the desired area of the napkin for decoupage and attach it to the glass with the colored side inwards. If the zone is chosen successfully, the image is glued and allowed to dry completely.

Opposite this picture you should fix the window: glue the oval cut out from the self-adhesive film. Glass should be carefully primed, after drying the base - cover with blue (or any other suitable) paint in a couple of layers with a sponge. Oval will protect the glass, you can not be afraid to cover it. If it seems that the surface is too uneven because of the sponge, you can polish it with fine sandpaper. Attention: the paint for this must be completely dry!

On top of the image, which was fixed with the bright side inwards, you can glue another thematic picture or ornament in the usual way described in the previous section.

To easily remove the protective film, along the contour can be slightly cut the paint. The edges of the oval should be decorated with imitation of snow, sparkles.

So that the field covered with monochromatic paint does not look boring, you can take a white acrylic composition and paint it with elegant snowflakes. In the hearts can be put on the glue placer spangles. Between the snowflakes, leave a different-sized spray: dip the tips of the bristles of the toothbrush in white paint and hold your finger to yourself.

The possibility of using tissue

In this case, the matter serves only as an additional background - in the future it should also be decorated. Here, the best fit natural variations - flax and cotton. The first step is to dilute 1: 1 PVA adhesive with water. A cloth is placed into the solution until it is completely impregnated, then it is squeezed and the container is wrapped, forming beautiful creases and folds along the way. After the surface is completely dry, you can proceed to the usual stages of decoupage.

Tip for beginners: you can cover the folds of paint of different shades of the same color to get a final visual depth of the surface. The final step is applying several layers of varnish.

Craftswomen offer a list of universal tips, with the help of which the result of decoupage champagne bottles with their own hands will definitely be colorful and attractive:

  • the base surface must be thoroughly cleaned and degreased - these stages should not be neglected;
  • all areas on which the original idea in no case should not get paint, can be protected with masking tape;
  • each new layer should be fully dry, do not rush;
  • You do not need to cut out the fragments of the drawing, it is better to carefully tear them off with your hands - if the edge is torn, it is easier to smooth and disguise it.

Finally, from the fabric or napkins need to completely remove the air bubbles.

To expand their own capabilities, decoupage Christmas bottles can be made using the following materials:

  • rice and semolina will help to give the image a special texture - after gluing, they need to be painted;
  • Ribbons can be used to decorate the neck - wrap them, tie a bow and fix with glue;
  • Lace - a convenient material for giving an elegant style;
  • the shell is indispensable for craquelure technique;
  • thread, twine, twine;
  • neat spruce branches and cones - are necessary to give a festive flavor, when gluing them you need to be careful so that they will not lag behind the surface in the future.

The final touch in the decor can be the use of coarse salt - if you cover it with a piece of paint that has not yet dried up, a snow effect is formed (often spilling it around the table and rolling a bottle on it). To get a complete snow pattern, it is necessary to apply transparent glue on the decorated surface and sprinkle with salt. Next, you should carefully shake off the excess - so the frosty ornament will appear.
